This article answers some common questions that you might have about the security, privacy and compliance of the Garage Hive software.

What security is in place to protect our database?
Data is stored in Microsoft Azure SQL service within the Microsoft Azure UK South (London) data centre.
Microsoft is ensuring that world-class data protection measures are in place that include secure network infrastructure, secure hardware infrastructure, and security testing.

Is Garage Hive a PC program, an App or is it Web-Based?
Garage Hive is built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central which is a Web-Based platform, there is also a mobile application available.
Can our system be restored easily from the backup?
Yes your database can be restored from a backup. Backups are made continuously with up to 35 days of point-in-time to restore capability.
Who would have access to our backed up data?
Garage Hive system administrators have access to the data.
Can we regularly download a local copy of the backup?
Garage Hive does not provide a local back up of the SQL database but it is available for administrators should it be needed. Should you wish for a copy of your data because you are migrating to another system we provide your data in excel format.
Is the backup encrypted
Yes.
Would each site have its own backup or would the backup be for all sites combined?
There is one backup for all sites combined.
If a site loses its internet access what effect would it have on our Garage Hive system?
If you lose internet connection your data is safe, we recommend that you have a backup internet connection e.g. a 4G/5G dongle so that you can always access your data.
Can we log into all sites remotely?
Yes Garage Hive is cloud based, so it can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection.
